• They challenge and support: A commitment to do everything possible for each pupil and enable all pupils to be successful

• They have confidence: The belief in one’s ability to be effective and to take on challenges

• They create trust: Being consistent and fair - keeping one’s word

• They respect others: The underlying belief that individuals matter and deserve respect

• They have emotional maturity: This is the most important challenge, especially when dealing with children

What do we aim to provide daily in every class:

1. Pace.

Children should begin working within four minutes. 

2. Questioning. 

Teachers should plan for higher level questioning. 

3. Appear, challenge, threaten.

When facilitating learning, teachers should use this strategy to ensure excellent engagement. 

4. Talk Partners. 

Teachers should change talk partners weekly.
