Healthy, Confident Individuals

Policy

Our view is that one activity will not lead to supporting pupils to achieve these principles. It is about everything that we do

Evidence

- New P.E. mapping shows our ambition to continue to develop our Health and Wellbeing offer.

- Pupil opportunities to lead learning and curriculum events (e.g. morning activities).

- Food and Fun Summer Provision.

Substrands

Physical Health

- Swimming and P.E. Lessons.

- Lots of promotion of a range of sports to encourage pupils to develop their passions.

- Lots of opportunities for pupils to play in sports teams.

Emotional Health

-Access to ELSA.

- Opportunities for pupils to reflect and become self-aware. Opportunities for pupils to learn about the importance of sleep, food and friendships to support our emotional health.

-Opportunities for pupils to speak to safe adults.

Use of Humour

- Staff use humour and teach pupils how to use humour without being rude or unkind.

Perseverance

- Links with our motto and with our school aims. We encourage pupils to give their all to everything that they do and to understand the importance of sustained effort.

- Importance of perseverance - we celebrate the achievements of all.

Understanding how people learn

Staff use a range of different pedagogical strategies and we support pupils to reflect upon how they have been successful (pupil reviews... pupil targets)

Being Independent

- Reciprocal reading and various activities have created opportunities for pupils to share their learning and provide feedback to others.

- REAL - Choosing.

- Arrangement of learning throughout the day.

- Morning activities.

Impact

Refine/Improve:

- Opportunities for Friendly sport have been very well supported. We need to continue to develop these - (See the new plan for 2024-2025).
